2nd Moodboard

gif edits

Today I decided to go out and take photo's of colour and architecture around where I live. I took the images in a minimalistic way because I wanted to try and practice and improve taking my photo's this way. It was a nice sunny day which was perfect for contrasting the blue sky with the colours I found. I really like the first image I took because the yellow in the image really stands out with the blue background. As you can see in these images I've mainly taken photo's of the colour yellow, red and blue - these are the colours I'd like to focus on for my project as I like those colours and they're also bright and contrast well.

Cereal

Cereal, is a travel and style magazine which is produced in a minimal and clean way. The magazine is published twice a year and is divided into different chapters for different cities. Each chapter focuses on stories on different people, places and products. I have researched this magazine as I am looking into the minimal and clean approach to my photography for my final. I really like the look of this magazine because the photographs in it look amazing; although they're simple, they're beautifully produced and I really like that.

Looking at buildings

I went out on a short test shoot during break time and took a few photo's of the buildings between studio 11 and the main college building. I took these images on my phone instead of my camera because I just wanted to quickly take photo's of the buildings to try and build up my idea more and see what sort of buildings I can take photo's of. As you can see I've tried to mainly capture the more colourful buildings as i'd like to take photo's of cool and colourful architecture for my final images.

Jonathan Chritchley

Jonathan Chritchley is a fine art photographer. His work is instantly recognised in books,  exhibitions, galleries and magazines. His regular clients include Ralph Lauren, Hilton international, Fortuny and P&O luxury cruises. I really like Jonathan's work because of how simple the majority of them are and how aesthetically pleasing they are to look at. I love how he captures things like mist and fog in his images to give them a mysterious feel. Most of his images are in black and white which is also nice, however for this project i'd like to go for brighter colours rather than black and white. However I have shot images that are minimal and put them in black and white because most of the time it improves and changes the context of the images for the better.

Instagram/ tumblr artists

These are a few people I found on instagram and tumblr which I really like the look of. As you can see the colours in these images of bold yet the photography is minimal and has a lot of negative space which is the type of images i would like to have for my final piece.

Nicholas Goodden

Nicholas Goodden is a London based urban/ street photographer and a micro video content(cinemagraph) photographer. His work mainly focuses on urban photography as well as producing memorizing cinemagraphs for brands from your smaller local start up to international corporations. I like Nicholas' work because of the colouring and style of the images. The way he captures his minimal images is a similar way to how I like to take photo's e.g. tops of buildings with a lot of sky/ negative space. I really love the image he has taken of the 'underground sign' because of the beautiful colours contrasting each other. Obviously this image has been edited but I really feel like these colours work very well together and I think that he has a good eye for that.
