Today we went down to Royal William Yard to take images using 'the formal elements' which are line, shape, form, texture, pattern and colour. As you can see, in some of these images I have tried to create these effects, for example the image of the 3 windows, I have captured the lines of the tiles and the lines of the windows at a good point. When editing I also increased the clarity and saturation to increase the colour and texture in the image.
In this image I like the use of shadow - I have edited the photo to black and white because I feel that it looks better this way - as i do most of my images, I adjusted the brightness, contrast etc.. to make the image look sharper.
I purposely made the image look out of focus - I achieved this by manually changing the focus to get this outcome - this image is edited - I brought the colour and contrast out of this image.
We were told to go out and take images of 'formal elements' therefor I took this opportunity to take photo's of this building which was covered in lines which is one of the formal elements. I put up the clarity and contrast on this image to make everything stand out more.
I like this image because of the shadows and highlights in it and the fact that you can see the view behind the arches
